December 2020 saw the release of their second EP, "Mercy Shine 2," featuring the chart-topping radio single "Why Can't It Be Tonight." Produced by Kimo Forrest, famed guitarist of the Country Music Hall Of Fame group Alabama, the track soared, hitting #64 on the Music Row Charts.
Mercy Shine's dazzling impact has not gone unnoticed, earning them recognition at the Josie Music Awards in 2019 and 2020. The Josie Music Awards, the largest independent artist awards show globally, nominated them for Duo of the Year and Fan Choice of the Year, with Mercy Shine taking home the Duo of the Year award in 2019. That same year, they were also nominated for Duo of the Year and Single of the Year at the KICMA Awards, taking home the SB Productions Rising Star Of The Year Award.
Capping off their remarkable achievements, Mercy Shine found themselves on the Official Ballot for the prestigious 2021 63rd Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Best Country Duo or Group Performance.
